This is a fun, sun-themed learning center that I like to use at the end of the year for review. It can be easily edited to fit any subject. I like to use it towards the end of the year when we do our sun science unit to review addition facts since that is what we are working on in math at the time. However it can be used any time of the year for any subject.
I make round sun “faces” with numbers from yellow paper and triangle sun rays with addition facts from orange paper.
I place them in a center along with sunglasses (I found a pack of children’s sunglasses at WalMart but there are also a variety of packs available on Amazon). We usually work on 2-3 fact families at a time. The students put on a pair of the sunglasses while they are completing the center (which they love – it’s a perfect incentive!) and place the addition facts around the correct number. Simple, fun, and effective!
