One of my favorite holiday activities is decorating Easter eggs with students. I love finding new and creative ways for the children to decorate their eggs. Here are some of my favorites:
Tissue Paper Eggs

Dyeing Eggs with Kool-Aid
Ever since learning this method I no longer use or buy the egg dyeing kits. Dyeing eggs with Kool-Aid requires no vinegar, is cheaper than the kits, and smells amazing! To find out how to dye eggs using Kool-Aid click here.
Confetti Easter Eggs
This idea is similar to the tissue paper method but uses smaller pieces to resemble confetti. In place of square confetti you can use a hole punch to cut the tissue paper and have round confetti or if you have a shaped hole punch you can use that as well. Exploding Vinegar and Baking Soda Eggs
This is by far a student (and teacher) favorite! It can be done as a science experiment or as a fun egg dyeing activity. When the vinegar (acid) reacts with the baking soda (base) it causes the dye to “explode” or fizz up over the egg and colors it. To see this method in action and get the directions click here.
