End of the School Year Student Gift Ideas

Recently I was asked for end of the year student gift ideas.  I went back through my files and found the templates for the student gifts / end of the year celebration favors that I have given out over the years.  I decided to put them all in one blog post to share with you and make them easily available for anyone who may need them.

Each idea has a printable tag.  If you would like to use the tags shown, they are available with editable name and personal message fields here.  Hopefully they will save you some time during the hectic end of the school year.  If you also need editable diplomas and graduation invitations I have those available here.

Sidewalk Chalk Student Gifts & Gift Tags

My students LOVE writing with sidewalk chalk during recess so I knew they would love it as a gift at the end of the year!  I was able to find boxes of sidewalk chalk at the Dollar Tree (I separated it and gave each student 3-4 pieces) or they are also available on Amazon.

Place a few pieces in a baggie and attach the tag of your choice.  I have used several over the years.

Sand Bucket End of the School Year Student Gift

The beach is a popular end of the school year theme that we have used many times. One of my favorite student gifts to coordinate with this theme is to fill a sand bucket with goodies.  I found nice sand buckets at the Dollar Tree (if you have a large class, Amazon has a set of 24 with sand toys) as well as some prizes for inside (sunglasses, glow sticks, beach balls, bubble wands, etc.).  I also divided up the leftover prizes from our birthday box and treasure chest for the buckets and also used books from our book club.  I stuffed the bottom with some tissue paper so they would look fuller. I have used 2 different tags:

Pop It Fidget Toys End of the Year Tags

With the huge popularity of pop it fidget toys, your students will LOVE seeing these pop it keychains on their desks the first day of school! Amazon has a large variety of inexpensive fidget toy keychains (see them here). I created 2 different tag options for variety.

Hope your summer is POPPIN’ with fun! gift tag

Colorful School Year Crayons Student Gift & Gift Tag

My preschool students love to draw, create, and color.  They get so very excited when new crayons are added to the art center so I like giving them their very own new box of crayons at the end of the school year.  Since we have Amazon Prime, we usually order the 12 box pack which is usually on sale for around $9.  Simply attach this colorful tag to a box of crayons.

Play Dough End of the School Year Student Gift

Play dough is always a student favorite and makes an excellent end of the year gift. You can choose to make your own using your favorite recipe or a recipe that was a big hit with your students.  Make a batch and divide it up into baggies or you can buy the small cans of play dough at Wal Mart, Target, or Amazon.  These tags were created for the small cans of play dough but could also be tied to a baggie filled with homemade play dough.

It Was a Treat Having You in My Class! Student Gift Tag

I am a huge dog lover and often use a dog theme in my classroom throughout the school year; therefore, I sometimes like to use this adorable student gift to coordinate with our class theme. Attach the tag to either a baggie filled with Scooby Doo graham cracker sticks or the small snack bags (the sticks resemble dog bones).

Dive Into a Good Book This Summer! Student Gift Tag

One of my favorite gifts to give students is a book.  The tags can be placed inside the front cover or on the outside of the package if the book is gift wrapped.

You’re a Smart Cookie! End of the Year Student Gift Tags

These are a really cute way to compliment your students’ accomplishments and wish them well for the next school year.  Attach the tags to snack bags of cookies or use the treat bag topper to decorate a baggie filled with a few small cookies or one large cookie.

Sweet Student Gift Ideas for the End of the School Year

Young students are just so darn sweet so why not let them know and give them a sweet treat!  These student gift tags can be attached to any treat or gift!

Have a Ball This Summer! Student Gift & Gift Tag

Like I said, the beach is a popular end of the school year theme for me so here is another beach related gift lol!  I usually combine this one with the buckets or the frisbee. I found beach balls at the Dollar Tree and you can also get them on Amazon for less than a dollar each.  You can also use super balls or any other type of ball. Simply attach the tag to the package.

Ocean, Fish Graduation Gifts & Gift Tags

Several years we decorated the stage and classroom with an ocean theme for graduation and these adorable fish tags were perfect!  It was the first “o-fish-al” sign for the students that they had moved up to the next grade – which is a BIG deal in pre-k and kindergarten! Personally I preferred to use Swedish Fish because they are my favorite, but you can also use Goldfish Crackers.  The tags can be placed over a snack size bag of Swedish Fish or a baggie filled with Goldfish Crackers (the grade level is editable).

Jump Rope End of the School Year Gift

Jump ropes were a favorite toy of our students out on the playground, so after finding jump ropes at the Target Dollar Spot we decided to give them as end of the year gifts. We used 2 different phrases and made boy tags & girl tags – “Jump for joy! You had a great year!” and “It’s been a great year! Now it’s time to jump into first grade!”.

M&Ms End of the School Year Student Gift

I liked the idea of using the Ms from the M&Ms package in the word summer and combined it with wishing students a Marvelous & Magnificent summer.  I gave these to students that I tutored throughout the year and they loved them! Simply attach the tag to a snack size bag of M&Ms.

Starburst Student Gift for The End of the Year

Starburst was a popular pick of my students from the treat box, so I attached these tags to baggies filled with a few Starburst as an extra end of the school year bonus treat.

Bubbles End of the Year Student Gifts & Gift Tags

I have used containers of bubble solution as end of the year gifts for my pre-K classes many times because they would always LOVE blowing bubbles when we would do it as an activity.  The first several times I used the saying “I’m bubbling with pride over all you have learned!”, then I saw “You blew me away!” online and tweaked it a little to say “You blew me away this year!”.  Both include student gift tags for boys and girls.  They can be attached to bottles of bubbles or bubble wands.

Noah’s Ark End of the Year Student Gift & Gift Tag

Teaching in a Christian school we have used Noah’s Ark as the theme for our spring program many times over the years.  I created this gift tag to coordinate with our program and graduation.  I attach it to a ziploc baggie filled with animal crackers. This student gift tag is part of my freebie sampler. The freebie is NOT editable and can be accessed here.  If you would like the editable version that allows you to edit the words “God’s promises never fail” and add printable names click here.

Beach Theme Sunglasses End of the Year Student Gift Tag

Another popular theme for the end of the year that we have done several times is the beach. I must say this is one of my favorites as I LOVE the beach!  A cute student gift to coordinate with this theme is sunglasses along with an inspiring “You have such a bright future!” message.  You can find very cute and inexpensive packages of children’s sunglasses at WalMart or the Dollar Store.  This student gift tag can also be used with glow sticks. This student gift tag is part of my freebie sampler. Summer, Kool-Aid End of the Year Student Gifts & Tags

This was a gift idea I used at the conclusion of summer camp programs but I changed the saying to reflect the end of the school year.  The tag says “Have a Kool summer!”.  Attach it to a pack of Kool-Aid and crazy straw (you can also add a sports bottle or cup). This student gift tag can also be used with glow sticks. This student gift tag is part of my freebie sampler. Pet Cloud End of the Year Student Gift & Tag

I found this idea while searching for ideas for my weather unit.  It was posted on Jennuine’s blog.  She also has a printable tag along with a poem.  I gave mine to students at the end of our weather unit so I changed the poem; however, it can also be used as an end of the year gift which is why I included it in this post. To make a Pet Cloud stretch out a jumbo sized cotton ball and glue on 2 wiggly eyes. This student gift tag can also be used with glow sticks. This student gift tag is part of my freebie sampler. The freebie is NOT editable and can be accessed here.  If you would like the editable version that allows you to add printable names click here.
